Lula and Janja go to Rome to Pope Francis’ Wake

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) and First Lady, Rosângela da Silva, Janja, will travel to Rome to participate in Pope Francis Wake. The date of the trip has not yet been established, since according to information from Lula’s conversation in the Planto Palace, it depends on the Vatican Protocol.

Lula should close the entourage that will participate in the event on Tuesday (22). Previously, the president said Francisco was a “voice of respect and welcome to his neighbor.”

“Pope Francis lived and propagated in his daily life, love, tolerance and solidarity that is the basis for Christian teachings,” said Lula, who appointed an official grief in the seven -day land as a tribute to the pontifice.

The Brazilian government’s remark praised Francisco’s “simplicity, courage and empathy”. Lula reminded in the statement that he and the first lady Rosângela da Silva, Janja, were greeted with “much affection” the times they met the religious.

Pope Francis, whose baptism is Jorge Mario Bergoglio, died at dawn on Monday 21. He held the maximum position of the Catholic Church for 12 years.
