Mato Grosso planted 92.6% of the monitored Safrinha corn area, also known as the second cultivation, until March 28, according to the examination of the Syy Soy producers. Planting, which covers approximately 1.9 million hectares, has a decrease compared to previous years: the second cultivation currently accounts for 47% of the soy area, well below 75%, which already occupied.

However, the estimation is 20.6% increase in production compared to the 2023/2024 cycle, reaching 10.2 million tons, thanks to the expectation of an average capacity of 80.8 bags per hectare, according to the entity accompanying the agricultural movement.

The northern region conducts planting, from 98.1%, and then south (92.6%) and the center (91.8%). Even with a smooth run, the index is 0.5 percentage below the last five years.

Reducing the corn area is a reflection of the increased costs and instability of the climate. According to CEMTEC (Monitoring Center Time and climate), the forecast from April to June 2025 indicates below average rainfall and high temperatures, which increases the risk of loss of efficiency, especially in the west and south -east.

“The second corn cultivation is very exposed to drought,” warns the technical coordinator of aprosoia Gabriel Balta.

Pod – The delight of soy reached 93% of the monitored area, and 4.1 million hectares were collected by the end of March. Production estimates increased to 14.6 million tons, 18.9% above the previous cultivation, drawn by an average performance review, from 51.7 to 54.4 bags per hectare after downloading 10.7% of the area.

The planted area also increased: 4.5 million hectares, 6.8% more than in 2023/2024. However, 2.2 million hectares (51% of the total area) were affected by water stress, mainly the sown crops between September and mid -October. The collection is 2.4 percentage below the average of the last five years.

In northern, north -eastern and western regions, most crops have good condition (from 68.5% to 85.9%). In the southeast, center, southern, southern Fronteir and South, up to 48.1% of areas are in bad conditions.

In a statement, the aprosoia indicates that the data is still partial and depends on the completion of sampling, which should reach at least 30% of the crop area, in addition to the appointment of the music video, which will be made at the end of the harvest.
