It is expected that soy production in Mato Grosso to SUL will reach 14.6 million tons in the cultivation of 2024/2025, which is an increase in 18.9% in the previous cycle. Until April 4, the collections have already reached 96.4% of the planted area, which corresponds to about 4.3 million hectares. The data comes from SIGA (Agribusiness Geographic Information System), coordinated by the SYY producers Association.
The area cultivated in this cycle increased by 6.8%, and amounts to 4.5 million hectares. The average productivity was rated up to 54.4 bags per hectare, 11.4% above the last collections. The southern region of state is the most advanced in the collections, with 97.5%completed, followed by regions of the middle (96.8%) and northern (91.2%).
Technical assessment shows that 48.2% of crops are in good condition, 28.2% in regular condition and 23.6% in poor condition. Despite the good overall capacity of about 2.3 million hectares – 52% of the planted area – water stress was affected, mainly caused by the lack of rainfall between December and January, which is a critical period of filling grain.
Production estimates include 10.7% of the total area of samples. The aprosion informs that the final data will be confirmed after the end of the set and remote detection analysis. The goal is to achieve 30% of sampling of planted areas.
While soy enters the last section of the harvest, the planting of the second crop has already reached 97.4% of the planned area, i.e. 2.1 million hectares. It is expected to collect 10.2 million tons, 20.6% more than in previous crops. The estimated performance is 80.8 bags per hectare. Technicians warn against the risk of losses due to the expected drought between April and June, especially in the western and south -eastern regions of the state.
