Responsible for ordering one of the largest manufacturers of trucks in the country, Marcelo Facchini sees the secret in leadership to ensure the continuity of a company that already goes through three generations.
At the head of the family business that exceeded $ 4 billion in annual revenue, he believes that good management is not only measured by numbers, but for the ability to prepare better people than the manager himself – something he considers to be essential for the unpredictability of life.
“I was three months away from an accident, and the company continued to work,” Marcelo said in an interview with the podcast From zero to topfrom infomoney. “Our function as a leader is to strengthen, because we will not be here forever.” In the conversation, he also talked about the challenges of engaging the new generation at work and reflected on the role of technology in the transformation of professional and personal relationships.

The CEO recognizes that young people today seek quick results and are facing the first difficulties in the market. “The Internet has changed everything. The information is very fast, which generates this immediacy. But I think they will change over time. We were also immediate before,” he thinks. In the midst of these changes, he highlights the importance of coexistence and eye to eye: “The online meeting is practical, but the face -the surface is unchanging.”

Out of the office
Outside office hours, Marcelo values the family. He likes to travel, barbecue on his farm and play video games with his son Luca. It also tries, whenever possible, to disconnect from the phone. “During the day I get many messages. When I get home, it’s not 50 read. I’m trying to keep focus, but it’s hard.”
Asked what advice he would give himself as a young man, he is simple: study, activate himself, but work. “Knowing the theorist is good, but the practical is even better. When I decided to stay in Rio Preto and unite the two, I won a lot.” Marcelo is also a defender of the passion for what is being done. “If you don’t love what you do, change. You’ll never be a good professional if you don’t like your activity. I love what I do, I work with joy. I have” Facchini “from the heart.”

Connection to the company
The connection with the company comes early. Grandchildren to the founder and son of Rubens Facchini, “Rubão”, he grew up as he walked at the factory, threw the ball and rolled a trolley between the shed. “My father transformed Facchini what she is. We just followed his footsteps, with a lot of respect for the company’s DNA.”
When he looked back, he realizes that he may have spent more time outside Brazil after college to expand the worldview – or even lived in Sao Paulo for a while. Still, I would not change lives at the factory for an office. “My place is in production. It’s in the blood.”
Marcelo also shared his headboard: The fourth dimensionby Korean Pastor David Yonggi Cho. “It’s a small but influential book. It changes how we pray, ask and thank. I recommend it to those who need something, whether it is faith or direction.
