Protesters gathered in the United States against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk and tried to defend the country from a government that, according to them, threatens basic civil rights and asks for the suspension of efforts to reduce the size of the government.
More than 1,200 manifestations “Hands Off” were planned for Saturday in all 50 states, says Associated Press. The organizers included civil law groups, trade unions, LGBTQ defenders and veteran groups.
The rally were some of the biggest demonstrations of public opposition since the beginning of Trump’s second term in January. Thousands of people crowded the center of Boston with posters saying “Save our democracy” and “take off their hands on social security”, while protesters in New York marched on Fifth Avenue, showed photos and video pictures.
Barbara McKenzie, 71, a retired pianist who participated in a Beaufort rally, North Carolina, said she was worried about issues such as women’s health and US policy on Ukraine and long -term European allies. She said that the mass cuts of federal employees of the Department of the Government’s efficiency in Musk caused her to worry about veteran care and effective hurricane track.
“Everything comes to life or death decision for humans,” McKenzie said. “We are all enthusiastic and we are no longer on.”
The White House, in a statement to the AP on the protests, said “President Trump’s position is clear: he will always protect social security, Medicare and Medicaid for eligible beneficiaries.

At the same time, the Democrats’ position is to provide social security benefits, Medicaid and medication to illegal foreigners, which will lead these programs to bankruptcy and crush older Americans.
Hundreds of people protested a few kilometers from Trump’s golf course in Florida, where he spends the weekend.
